As a seasoned veteran and had worked in a big hotel as the reception manager I have to say that most of what is given in this book is worthless. In fact, if you try some of the “tactics” in a normal hotel, you may be left with a heavy bill. I read this book to see how the scammers could take advantage of groping my staff. None of my colleagues did not fall for anything that he proposed and many have tried.

Has anyone tried twice to book with us when we were in full force. E ‘ended costing him two nights for two bookings. He tried not to pay and called his credit card to complain about it. Surprisingly, the credit card company sided with us on that. Hotels, like all others in the tourism sector are fraud, ‘This guy tries to put as points. While reservations are a form of contract and the state can be difficult to break.

His advice to airline recovery was, at best, even before 9 / 11. Now it is completely useless. I read an article or a page of advice airline in a Reader’s Digest, and had more practical advice.

You can be sure that if you try any of these tactics will not get an update of any kind. More likely is that the staff will be in you and look with suspicion throughout the duration of his travels with the company. If you would like to assure the bad people, bad rooms, and all evil, then try these tactics. Sometimes a bad score is not worth having. On several occasions I have “fired” guests. This is a good guide for that to happen. If you are a frequent traveler is certain is that should be getting benefits, such as a major customer. You do not need this.

This author is painting professionals in the travel business as a kind of enemy. And this guy and his tricks that make passengers in a bad light and, finally, the costs of the sector, whether for reward programs that end up on legitimate travelers. People in this industry work exceptionally hard. They have a bad time, holiday work, and are paid poor. The worst part of it is shots like this and people who make independent travel frustrations that people encounter. They put all this, and is expected to thank and smiles.

This is their job and they know it, but people like this author and his “advice” are not acceptable.

Here are some suggestions for hotels that I hope you find useful:

    1. The best price in general will be available through internet booking.
    2. Discounts get a good grade in that book rooms for you. The hotel becomes a very low rate and give you a ride “of the dwelling”, meaning that will give you everything that is available. Even if you call and get a confirmed reservation for a certain type of room, the hotel can change at will, as agreed with the discount broker. The discount broker is actually engaged customers, not you.
    3. Control territory on the web and find what companies are often the area. If you’ve ever purchased a product that can legitimately claim that you shop and do business with them, the hotel can book their negotiated rates. I would put aside the fact that you purchase relatively small quantities.
    4. Hotel vacancy expected to fluctuate. The more complete the hotel the most likely to pay the “rack” rate. This is the full price, it is a discount rate of this type.
    5. If the hotel is taking the official rate, why are full then go to your travel agent. Your travel agent can get a better rate for this single example. Otherwise, to avoid travel agent at all costs.
    6. Always always get the confirmation number and, if absolutely necessary to have a fax or letter of confirmation by e-mail and check the dates carefully. Many people find that it has reserved for the wrong day.
    7. The more you call the more likely somebody is going to ruin your reservation. Know what you want in advance and put your requests in all at once. If you start despite the reservations that can ruin your reservation. Reservations may not be on site when they occur and things are screwed.
    8. Applications connecting rooms can be particularly difficult. Most hotels try to meet requests of this kind, but rarely provide them.
    9. Most rooms feature business class rooms or special services available during working days. During the weekend of these services may be offered.
    10. The hotels offer a room to stay inside unless you pay sky high rates do not expect a palace. Chances are you’re paying for the location. If you are booking a downtown hotel, in every city of medium size or larger are expected to pay separately for parking. Almost any hotel can offer a parking structure in the city. Property taxes would only be required to pay a rate unimaginable. Ask how much parking will cost. I remember the hotel most likely will not have any control over this so do not complain about them. In large cities, this can be a daily rate of $ 20 – $ 30. It is no surprise.

Given the enormous changes in the policies of the airlines and security since 9 / 11, the vast majority of the advice in this book is no longer applicable. Greenberg focuses so much to fly – almost 240 of the book of 375 pages of content more or less – than one might think that there was nothing more to travel to fly. There is also a jump of a strange animal-friendly housing section short (two major sections) right in the center of a debate on how to get the best deal for a hotel room. Obviously, those who worry that a big cut, and any reader who-knows-how-much information. There are some helpful tips and suggestions here, but not enough to justify owning it.

  3. Walking back from Florida a week ago, through a major airline, was almost driven to anger when the carriage of passengers in front of me fully reclined chair. My legs were almost around my neck and made my table in my abdomen. I decided to never fly the airline and I was looking for a book he had inside information I needed to find a better place in an airplane. This book is soooooo much more. Information based on detailed specific plans was only the beginning. I recommend reading with a hightlight as there is a wealth of information to digest. It also includes an important reference section at the end with websites, phone numbers, etc. For those wishing to take an active part in travel plans, this book is essential reading. . . . . . . . . . Otherwise, call your travel agent and hope for the best!

This is without doubt the most stupid book I read – on any topic.

The core of the book is mainly based on the author to buy the cheapest tickets possible, and hotel rooms, and then magically upgrade to first class suites with ocean view at no additional cost – ever . Everything he does is ask. Apparently the biggest personality in the world because everyone knows you can not wait to give free updates. It’s really amazing how many people around the world are focusing on helping this guy out.

The author insists that his loyalty to an airline that makes him a good customer, and therefore the results of frequent updates. This seems hard to believe because it always pays almost nothing for the tickets (which constantly boasts about). If the airlines that fly to its customers complete stories, as they do, the company would have seen that there is more than a parasite that generates very little revenue for the airline that the quantity of services consumed. Why continually airline reward for doing nothing to
them? It’s not like you actually pay for what you get.

Every time I fly I always ask the agent leads to a free upgrade to first class, and each time I refused politely, usually with a smile from the agent. We all know that in the real world things do not work as the author states that do. So, if you believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy to go ahead and buy this book. If you do not save your money.

To read Peter Greenberg’s stand-up act, get this book. If you are looking for clear and concise advice on traveling, keep looking. Reading this book, you feel like the jokes are more numerous suggestions from 10 to 1. The first 10 pages of Jay Leno making a trip!?!? That’s not what I call travel tips.
